Border violations by coalition forces continue

MIRANSHAH: Border violations by coalition and Afghan forces continued for the third day on Sunday in the Lwara Mandi area of North Waziristan, according to witnesses.

Witnesses said that the coalition forces seized a shepherd in the Data Khel area of Lwara Mandi. They said the resident of Shashly village on the Pak-Afghan border in North Waziristan – identified as Sher Ali, the son of Gul Khan – had been detained on the other side of the border.

In another incident, witnesses said the coalition forces bombed a Pakistani border area. They said that two gunship helicopters also flew several kilometres into Pakistani territory.

US defence officials told Congress on Thursday that American forces on Afghanistan’s eastern border routinely fired on and pursued Taliban enemies into Pakistan. nni
